Trove is led by Darren Tong, a product and commercial leader who has run large Financial Services businesses.
Before founding Trove, I spent over 15 years leading major portfolios and commercial teams in Banking. Along the way I’ve launched propositions, reshaped pricing models, navigated regulatory change and helped organisations get unstuck when things became complicated. At heart, I like making tough commercial problems easier to understand and faster to fix.
Career highlights
Formulated a new ISA strategy, overhauling and automating operations to improve customer outcomes and grow market share.
Designed the UK High Street’s first risk-based pricing model for overdrafts in response to significant regulatory reforms.

I’ve spent over 15 years running product, pricing and commercial teams across savings, lending and digital banking – most recently at Lloyds Banking Group, where I was responsible for multi-billion-pound balance sheets and teams of 100+ specialists.
- Lloyds Banking Group: senior roles across savings, overdrafts and digital banking, chairing governance forums and owning end-to-end P&L performance.
- Digital brands & propositions: designed and launched new digital savings brands, and reshaped product and pricing strategies across large retail franchises.
- Regulatory change: led major programmes such as overdraft reforms, balancing regulatory expectations with sustainable commercial outcomes.
